I also worked on the CHS stocking. (a little)
I also took a road trip to one of my favorite quilt shop - Quilts Plus. If you are ever on the northside of Indianapolis stop by you won't be disappointed. They have needlepunch, supplies for rughooking, wool applique and of course lots of fabrics for quilting.
A little farther down the road is Needle Fever. Currently, they are hosting the Carriage House Samplings Trunk Show. I could not believe my luck. I always wanted to see the models up close and I was not disappointed. They are fabulous! Some of Kathy's newer releases I had passed over but after seeing them finished I now have a different opinion. The stockings, the Villages, Houses, and Shores are so unique. The trunk show will be there until the end of the month, so don't delay in visiting.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments, until next time-Happy Stitching!

Oh my....I've not been to Needlefever for years...literally....I think it was like 1996 the last I was there. And the quilt shop...oh my...especially since I'm into penny rugs. YIKES...GREAT information, not so good for my pocket book. Have you heard about the Celebration of Fiber at Sycamore Farm in Terre Haute? Stacy Nash is going to be there. My Mom and I are taking a class there by a wool applique teacher making a fall table runner. E-mail me if you'd like more info...lots of great stuff going on that weekend :) I'm excited!!!
What great pictures, Tanya! Love the quilt shop and looks like you could spend a lot of time in there just looking at the displays! Also, great shots of Kathy's trunk show - it's true, once you see something in person it can take on a whole new feel for you. So - what did you come home with????
You know, that BBD is one of my very favorites as well - great job! I also love how your stocking is progressing - you've been busy!
Thanks for the morning eye candy!
Beautiful finish!! And oh my! All your lovely pictures have me wishing for an LNS trip! lol! I was lucky enough to see Kathy's trunk show in my not so local LNS, so I hear you on how gorgeous they all are. And your quilt store looks absolutely luscious! Sigh. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, how wonderful to have those shops near you. I swear that I would be in the poor house if I lived near them. Loved all the pictures of the trunk show. Seeing those things in real life can really throw you overboard - seeing the chart is one thing and sometimes you can pass it by - but seeing them in real life can make that credit card smoke! LOL Love your BBD finish. I think it's one of more favorite patterns of theirs!!
Tanya your BBD finish is wonderful - I agree I love this installment of LF. Can't wait to see how you finish it off. AAAHHHHH yes - CHS - Kathy is a very creative and talented lady and a super nice person too. I met her at the Charlotte market a couple of years and Paulette was sharing her space - they are both great gals and I could stitch nothing but their designs and be happy and busy for the rest of my life LOL - the quilt shop looked yummy - I'd be in heaven with wool for rug hooking - it's rare to see a shop with rug supplies - way down south here it is definitely a cottage industry - no retail opportunities - just mostly teachers studios. Happy Memorial Day! Hope your rain stops - we already know ours is NOT - Mushroom Mel
Your BBD looks so lovely on a light linen, waiting to see how you will frame it now lol.
It must be wonderful to have a quilt shop nearby who does a trunk show, never seen that in the UK. Our needlework shops have sizzled out in my county, thanks for sharing.
Wow, I am envious of your Where My Heart Blooms! It is awesome, and mine too, as for favorites! I must get this stitched this year!LOL
You had a fun roadtrip!! Glad you got to visit and see all of those wonderful goodies, Tan!
The trunk show looks stunning and congratulations on your finish, it's lovely
The BBD looks fabulous. The house seemed like it took me forever to stitch, lol don't they all?
I would love to see that trunk show, you are so lucky.
It looks like some great shops near you.
Oh Tanya, how lucky you are to have a LQS like that in your neighbourhood and as for the CHS exhibition... Sigh. Even looking at the *pictures* makes me want to stitch everything ever designed my CHS. Ah well, I'll stick with the stocking for now. Great progress, as always!
Congratulations on finishing Where My Heart Blooms. This one was the reason why I joined last year, but I never got past the border! Seeing yours finished is a rgeat inspiration.
Congrats on a beautiful finish and thanks for sharing all the pictures of the show.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Oh how I envy you! I would love to see that trunk show! So did you bring home some new stash, such as the newer releases?
Love the BBD design. I've stitched that one and enjoyed it except the boring bits of the house. Oh well it can't all be fun & excitement!
Have a great weekend!
Beautiful BBD finish Tanya - I came very close to starting this one instead of BtSS. I love it! great progress on your stocking too - I definitely need to get back to mine. I've been neglecting it! Thanks for all the great pictures of the trunk show. I would love to see them up close and personal - it must have been so inspiring! :)
Congrats on your LF finish. It is beautiful. Your stocking WIP looks lovely as well. What a great trunk show! I would love to see all of those models up close. I am a huge CHS fan. :)
Congrats on a gorgeous finish, Tanya! Great progress on the stocking, too. I loved seeing the photos of the CHS trunk show. I got to see her trunk show last year but I see more stuff that catches my eye in the photos. Lovely stuff!
Tanya, your BBD piece is beautiful. It is one of my favorites, too.
I loved the pictures of the quilt shop(fabrics are another of my weaknesses) and the trunk show. It sounds like such a fun roadtrip.
That BBD sampler is one of my favorites. I need to add that one to my neverending stack of must do's.
I'm glad you were able to see the CHS models. Amazing, aren't they?
Very inspiring.
